A Study on the Knowledge and Attitude of a Service Girls in Partial Region


Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the level of AIDS related knowledge and attitude of a service girls in partial region. The subjects were 232 service girls who were living in C. K city area.
Date was collected by self reporting with a question of 50 items developed by Chang(1994). The reliability of the instrument for the AIDS related attitude were cronbach¢¥s alpha. 7882 respectively.
Data was analyzed by using frequency percentage, mean, standard deviation, Person correlation, ANOVA, t-test.
The result were as follows
1. AIDS related knowledge.
"Transfused patients by blood hold in AIDS virus are can be AIDS patient"(87.1%) and "if we knows AIDS patient, then we must informs him on public health center in the law"(84. I %)".
2. AIDS related attitude.
"The education of AIDS must be performed in Nation(98.7%) and "When pre-examine in the hospital, we must .includes test of AIDS"(98.7%).
3. High mutual relations was appeared between AIDS related knowledge and attitude of subjects(t=.3502, P<.0001)
4. An analysis of the relationship of AIDS related knowledge to general characteristics showed statistically significant difference for education level(t=0.018, P<.05), marital status(t=0.092, P<.05), having used contraceptives(t=0.019, P<..05).
5. An analysis of the relationship of AIDS related attitude to general characteristics showed statistically significant difference for age(F=0.007, P<.05), educational level(t=0.014, P<.05), marital status(t=0.075, P<.05), having had a abortion(t=0.031, P<.05).
Future research and survey about knowledge and attitude related to AIDS should be conducted for the other groups.
